We're Moving!

Our Moving Sale has been extended through our last day at 28 South Street.  If you missed the sale last weekend you now have until Saturday, November 29th to find a deal or two.  We sold a lot of yarn this weekend but we still have some great buys available.  Some yarns have been discontinued but most of these are current.  This is an unusual opportunity to buy some great yarns without paying full price.  The more we sell the less we have to move!

As a little incentive to visit us once we move, the first fifty customers who make a purchase at the new shop will recieve a gift.  Write it on the calendar:  Tuesday, December 1st at 400 Lincoln St., Shop #2 (which faces Rte. 3A and Trader Joe's).

We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, friends, laughter and lots of turkey and goodies!  Safe travels to those of you who must leave home to celebrate.

Be Thankful,

Deb

Summer Updates

A 100% wool superwash yarn has recently been added to our shop’s yarn offerings.  After lots of requests, research and meetings with yarn company sales representatives we have chosen:

Ella Rae’s Superwash Classic Wool – a 219 yard, 100% machine washable wool.  It knits at 5 stitches to the inch on a US 7 needle.  We have twenty-four great colors available.

Indulgence Cashmere Sock Yarn has arrived and the colors are great.  A Merino wool, nylon and cashmere blend, Indulgence has durability and softness.  Knit at 5.5-7.5 stitches = 1” on a US 3-6 needle, the 437 yards per skein will give you lots of project possibilities

Beginning this Tuesday, July 14th, Yarns in the Square will be offering a 10% discount (on yarn) to our customers who are willing to self identify as “senior citizens”.  We will not make such determinations so anyone who believes herself (or himself) to be eligible should let us know at the register.

Our first Kid’s Knitting Camp finished yesterday.  What a blast!  Four very bright, energetic and curious young ladies learned a lot about fiber, yarn and knitting.  There are still openings in the August 19th-21st session.

We still have some openings in our workshops so give us a call if you’re still interested.

In addition to continuing our Tuesday and Wednesday nights, Wednesday morning and Wednesday afternoon classes, we have been asked to add a couple of new classes in the fall.  Deb will be offering a Friday morning, 10am-12pm class and Lois will teach a 1-3pm class on Tuesday and 6:30-8:30 Monday night class. We hope one of these will work for those of you who have been inquiring.

I’m beginning to knit the Greater Boston Yarn Crawl (GBYC) shawl pattern “Freedom Trail”this week.  The shawl was designed specifically for the 2015 GBYC by Cobblestone Designs.  You can see on ravelry.com or you can stop in to see mine.  I have chosen Sweet Georgia’s “Tough Love Sock” (my newest favorite sock yarn!) in the “coral rose” colorway.

To all of you who have fought your way through the street work to get to us over the last several weeks, I would like to say “Thank You”!  We really appreciate the extra efforts you made to see us.  I hope we’ll have a clearer path for you soon.
