Classes are designed for you to bring in a current project, and recieve help if you're struggling with a pattern. You can also come to enjoy the company of fellow knitters.










Workshops are the perfect way to comeplete a day project. Once you sign up and pay for the class, you'll have the opportunity to walk away with a beautiful hand knit creation.

Spring Workshop Schedule

Kids Knitting (Minimum age of 6)   $20     Instructor:  Lois

Saturday, May 24th, 2-4pm or Saturday, June 28th 2-4pm

One skein of Encore Chunky (light color,no prints) & US No. 10 needles (9” or 10” straights).  We have the supplies and would be happy to ‘kit’ them in an attractive little package & hold them aside once the child is registered…please let us know your color choice: white, pink, blue, or mint.


Xale Inspiracao Shawl      $45      Instructor:  Marianne

Saturday, April 12th, 1:00-4:00pm

We don’t know how to say it either but it’s beautiful!  If you’ve been hoping to try a lace project – this is it!  Learn how to read written and charted lace patterns and begin a beautiful shawl in worsted weight yarn.

The pattern is free on, so download yours and bring it to class.  You will need about 400 yards of worsted weight yarn and US size 6 circular needles, at least 32 inches long.  Our model is knit in Modern Cotton by Berocco, but any worsted weight can be substituted. However, it should be a yarn that has a nice drape to it. Feel free to ask for yarn suggestions at the shop.

This class is for Intermediate knitters who have knowledge of decreasing techniques such as K2 tog and SSK.

Hats on circular needles

Saturday, April 12th, 11:00am-1:00pm, and Saturday, April 19th, 11:00-1:00pm

A great four hour workshop that will provide students with the basic design principles for knitting or constructing a basic hat.  Learn to knit hats for infants, children, or adults, sans pattern.  It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s for you!

100 yds. worsted weight yarn, 16” circulars, #7 (or size to get gauge), #6 double pointed needles, stitch markers, tape measure, calculator, scissors, pen, pad, etc. (the kit!).   

Work a gauge to achieve 5 stitches to 1”.  Please come to class prepared.

Skills to be covered: 
Knitting in the round, decreasing, and secrets of the dome (Brunalleschi eat 
your heart out!).

Crochet Granny Squares     $30     Instructor:  Diane

Sunday, April 13th, 2:00-4:00pm

Who doesn’t have fond memories of snuggling with their parents or grandparents under a handmade granny square afghan?  Whether you like the traditional look with dozens of colors joined with black yarn or you like fewer colors arranged dramatically, this class can get you started.  The options are endless and you don’t need to make an afghan.  Granny squares can be used in many other fun and functional way.  This class will teach you how to make your own unique granny square but be careful, they can be addictive.

: small amount of worsted weight yarn and size G crochet hook.

Pre-requisites:  chain, single crochet and double crochet.

Finishing Your Knitted Garments      $45     Instructor:  Joan

Materials: One (1) skein light colored bulky weight yarn


Six (6) required swatches knit as follows:

  • Swatches 1&2 are both the same.  Cast on 10 stitches.  Work in stockinette  for 4 “.  Bind off stitches.
  • Swatches 3&4 are both the same.  Cast on 10 stitches.  Row 1:  K1 (P1,K1) 4 times, K1.  Row 2:  P1 (K1,P1) 4 times, P1.  Repeat these 2 rows until swatch measures 4”.  Bind off in pattern.
  • Swatches 5&6 are both the same.  Cast on 10 stitches.  Work in stockinette for 3 inches.  Place stitches on a holder.
  • Swatches 7&8 are both the same.  Cast on 10 stitches.  Work in garter stitch for 3 inches.  Bind off stitches.

Skills to be covered: 

Seaming in stockinette – seaming in garter stitch – seaming ribbing – three needle bind off – kitchener stitch.

Beginning Knitting 101    $30   Instructor:  Lois

Saturday, May 3rd, 2-4pm

Materials:350 yards of Chunky yarn (solid light color, no tweeds), US size 10 (9” or 10”) straight needles, tape measure, scissors, pencil & paper.


Skills to be covered: 

This is a great little workshop to learn knitting basics.  Soon enough you’ll be making Holiday gifts for next year.  Students will learn: Cast on, Cast Off, the Knit & purl stitches, increasing, decreasing, and simple pattern stitches utilizing the knit & purl stitch.

“Ready for a Sweater?”      $75     Instructor:  Sarah

Session 1 - Saturday, May 3rd, 11am-1pm.  You will learn to swatch for gauge, read the pattern, determine which size to knit and will practice stitch techniques.

Session 2 - Saturday, May 17th, 11am-1pm.  You will learn to make buttonholes, how to join with a three-needle bind-off and how to block garments.

Session 3 - Saturday, May 31st, 11am-1pm.  The final class will include seaming, finishing (and a little crochet!).

 How about a nice spring sweater?   The Swing Cardigan by Bobbi IntVeld (Blue Sky Alpaca Yarns) is fun because it not only works up quickly but it offers several techniques to learn.  The sweater requires shaping, has a lovely neck treatment, a buttonhole, and a very small amount of (easy) crochet for the edgings.  Paired with a beautiful yarn –such as Phoenix, a 100% mercerized cotton yarn that is easy to fall in love with, it’s likely to become a favorite!

Straight or circular needles sizes 6, 7, and 8 for swatching, crochet hook size E.  Yarn will be chosen in first class after determining the correct size for your sweater. 

Additional materials
stitch holder(s), button, tapestry needle and your usual knitting notions.

Skills to be covered: 
Sweater fit, reading and understanding patterns, sweater construction and finishing.

Cast on, bind off, knit, purl, and a willingness to stretch your wings!

Toe-Up Socks       $60     Instructor:  Sarah

Saturday, May 10th, 12-5pm

Turn your sock knitting upside down.  Start from the toe and work your way up to the cuff.  Learn a different increase method, and short row techniques for the heel.  Excellent for utilizing ALL of your yarn.

Size US2 - 40” circular needle, one skein sock yarn (not too dark in color) wound if necessary

No homework required before class.

Knitting 102    $30     Lois
Sunday, May 11th, 11-1pm
Materials:  200 yards of worsted weight yarn, US size 7 or 8 needles, tape measure, scissors, pencil & paper.

  Please come prepared.

Skills to be covered:  This is a great workshop if you want to move beyond the basics.   Students will learn about yarn weights, patterns, needles, cast on, cast off, pattern stitches.

Pre-requisites:  good working knowledge of cast on/off, knit & purl.

Knit up to the armhole on one front so we can begin the mock cable pattern in class.
